SOURCE COMPONENTS
TURNTABLES
These classic pieces of equipment have been with us for over a century and have experienced a massive resurgence in popularity in the last 20 years. Whether you are playing a new release or a well-worn copy of Abbey Road, when the needle drops, it is like stepping back in time. At Electronics World, we carry turntables from Pro-Ject, Yamaha, Marantz, and more.
CD PLAYERS
Compact Discs are still with us and sounding better than ever. Marantz and Rotel are our go-to choices due to the wonderful musicality of their players.
STREAMERS
Entire musical catalogs from your favorite artists await on the internet. Millions of tracks in high-resolution quality that equals the playback the artists heard in the recording studio. We carry streamers from highly respected companies such as Cambridge Audio, Pro-Ject, and Sonos.
CONTROL and AMPLIFICATION
The function of the control and amplification stage is simply to let you choose what you want to hear, how loud you want to hear it, and to do no damage to the signal. It takes a lot of work to do all that while maintaining the integrity of the music. This stage has several configurations.
Receivers
These all-in-one units include the control stage (also known as the pre-amplifier), the amplifier (the muscle), and a remote source (traditionally radio, but lately streaming sources). We stock receivers from Yamaha, Marantz, and Rotel.
Integrated Amplifiers
These combination units include the preamplifier and amplifier in one box. They are generally considered the next step up the ladder of audio fidelity. Electronics World carries models from Marantz, Cambridge Audio, Bryston, and Rotel.
Separates
This is where it gets serious. Each part of the chain comes in separate boxes that preclude the signal from picking up interference from another stage. When compromises are not acceptable, this is where you will be shopping. Bryston, Rotel Michi, and the Cambridge Audio Edge series are players at this level.
SPEAKERS
All this electronic wizardry is useless if we don’t do a quality job of turning electricity into sound. Arguably the most important stage, high end speakers bring the band into the room and put them on a stage in front of you. Speakers come as floor-standing or bookshelf speakers and can include a subwoofer. Speaker manufacturers often voice their speakers in a specific manner that they feel best reproduces the music. The range of technology can be as impressive as the prices. While most companies have models to meet most needs, the top-of-the-line models can sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars and are statements of the art. We carry such well-known names as Bowers and Wilkins, Martin Logan, and KEF.
ACCESSORIES
Of course, there are always additional pieces that are required or can be added, in the pursuit of audio nirvana. Speaker cables, interconnects for chaining together separates, Digital to Analog Converters, and much more are available for those who share our passion.
